At this point, the demand for Fivio Foreign’s long-awaited debut album has approached a fever pitch, given that we’ve all been waiting for that body of work since he released his April 2020 EP 800 B.C. Since then, the Brooklyn emcee has delivered a slew of infectious singles, including “Move Like A Boss” with Young M.A, “13 Going On 30,” “Bop It” with Polo G, and “Trust.” Fivio has also become a hot commodity as a featured artists, contributing to tracks like Lil Tjay’s “Headshot,” Tory Lanez’s “K Lo K,” Calboy’s “Rounds,” DaniLeigh’s “Dominican Mami,” Famous Dex’s “Couped Out,” and The Plug’s “Fashion.”
Today, Fivio adds to that with his latest drop “Self Made,” an AXL Beats and Yoz Beatz-produced offering that sees him rapping about how he’s reached this stage of success on his own:
“They sayin’ they made me, huh, make another one, I had to take my spot, and I take another one, they couldn’t break my mother’s son, you runnin’ the race, you never won, look, uh, I was just hated and degraded, now they see a nigga made it, now they sayin’ I’m their favorite, look…/”
The accompanying visual is essentially a message to Fivio fans, letting the world know that he’s still very much on the scene and will be blessing us with something — hopefully, B.I.B.L.E. — pretty soon. He can be spotted showing off nice whips, riding with some eye candy, and posting up in front of a recording studio.
In addition to the loose singles, Fivio also received added exposure as a member of the latest XXL Freshman class, joining the likes of Mulatto, NLE Choppa, Lil Keed, 24kGoldn, Baby Keem, CHIKA, and Jack Harlow. It was even his participation in one of the cyphers that truly brought some of the spark back to XXL’s long-running series.
