Over the years, the hip hop community has lost many legends and legends in the making as a result of senseless murders, and the chaos still continues. Following the deaths of King Von and Mo3 and the shootings of Boosie Badazz and Benny the Butcher, Fivio Foreign tweeted his thoughts about the profession of rapping.

“Rapper are da most targeted people on planet earth,” he wrote in a tweet. “Target[ed] by police, by otha rappers, by media, by civilians & everybody else dat feel like we shuddnt have all da things we have.” His tweet was later reposted to T.I.’s Instagram feed.

Earlier this month, King Von was killed outside of an Atlanta nightclub on Nov. 6. The rapper — who was one of six people shot in front of Monaco Hookah Lounge — died as a result of his injuries. The gunman Timothy Leeks was charged and arrested for the killing.

Following his death, when Boosie sat down with DJ Vlad, he echoed similar sentiments to Fivio.

“We got the [most] dangerous job as rappers. Nobody has a more dangerous job,” the Lousiana rapper said. “Every night we go out, we can get killed. Not just by a opp, not just by police, it could be a crazy fan…Our job is really dangerous, especially the ones gettin’ $10,000s to $100,000s. And you gotta go in them clubs and gangsta rap, and you got opps. Our life [is] dangerous.”

Boosie’s friend and collaborator Mo3 was later killed on a freeway. The Dallas rapper was reportedly driving fast on the highway in an attempt to escape from a vehicle he realized was following him. When he crashed into a barrier, he exited the car and attempted to flee, but was shot in the head multiples and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

On Friday (Nov. 13), Boosie joined Mo3’s friends and fans to honor the late rapper in a vigil, and was shot in the leg on the following day, his birthday (Nov. 14). Benny the Butcher was also shot that day during an attempted robbery. Both Boosie and Benny have survived and are recovering.
