Over the weekend, Lil Tjay unveiled a new single titled “Headshot,” which features assists from Polo G and Fivio Foreign and sees the collaborators diving into street subject matter over production courtesy of Bordeaux, Non Native, TnTXD, Tahj Money, Dmac, and 101 Slide:
“Fresh in the game, still see it as a blessin’, the same, hundred thousand ‘round my neck for the chain, tryna go out like a vet’ in the game, put respect on my name/
No security, I’m flexin’ with gang, I’m a real one, reminiscin’ about all of my decisions, embracin’ the way of livin’, I was runnin’ through the field, dumb, couple niggas disrespectin’, we done killed them/”
Now, fans can enjoy a dope new visual for the hard-hitting cut that shows Tjay, Polo, and Fivio living as lavish as possible, to say the least. Butlers, maids, and other household staff tend to a huge mansion while the well-dressed rappers perform their verses in a courtyard.
Currently, Lil Tjay is said to be putting the finishing touches on his sophomore studio LP Destined 2 Win. The forthcoming effort could include previously released loosies like “Go In,” “20/20,” “First Place” (which also featured Polo G), “Losses,” “Move On,” “None of Your Love,” and “Calling My Phone” with 6LACK — the last of which debuted at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and subsequently earned the NYC star a Gold plaque.
Tjay’s debut album, the Platinum success True 2 Myself, was released back in 2019. Last year, he did keep the streets fed with his State of Emergency EP, a seven-track body of work with additional features from Jay Critch, Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow, Jay Gwuapo, the late Pop Smoke, and more.
