It’s clear at this point that Young M.A is charging up for something exciting. Thus far, she’s released her latest single, “Off The Yak,” and delivered freestyles over CJ’s “Whoopty” and SpotemGottem’s “BeatBox.” Today, she keeps the momentum going with the NY Bangers-produced “Successful,” a drill-esque cut that sees M.A reminding listeners of her talents and achievements:
“I’m top ten, and if you think otherwise, suck my dick, I got it locked and I’m locked in, I’m cut different, I am not them, it’s RedLyfe and we tied in, they got me and I got them/
They say I’ma go to hell for all of this sinnin’, well, let me rot then, it’s timeout for you niggas when I put the time in, no handouts, I put the grind in, got in my bag and I got rich when I climbed in/”
“Successful” also sees a dope visual courtesy of Diretto Da Rook, which begins with Young M.A getting out of her car and walking into what looks like an apartment building — all while leaving bloody footprints behind her. She’s then seen riding through New York City’s streets in a Corvette, all before the camera switches to her in a high-rise residence overlooking the city. Simply put, she fought her way to the top, and she has no plans of leaving the scene.
Back in 2019, Young M.A unveiled her debut album Herstory In The Making, a top 20 effort that saw 21 cuts and a couple of appearances from Relle Bey and Max YB. More recently, she blessed her fans with the quarantine-friendly EP Red Flu, which contained tracks like “Bad Bitch Anthem” and “2020 Vision.” During that same time frame, she could also be heard on tracks by Fivio Foreign and Eminem.
