Last night, Kanye West appeared on the latest episode of REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” and, to the surprise of no one, he did not disappoint. During the more than two-and-a-half hour runtime, the Chicago multi-talent gave his thoughts on everything from his family to his own ups and downs, essentially leaving no stone unturned in regards to his life thus far. As such, there are also many moments where Ye would express his gripes with fellow peers in the hip hop industry — Big Sean, Drake, Just Blaze, and even JAY-Z felt a bit of Ye’s wrath, even if it was meant out of love for all parties.

One person in particular who ended up on the receiving end of Kanye’s punishment was Talib Kweli, a longtime collaborator of the G.O.O.D. Music head honcho since the earlier years in their respective careers. During N.O.R.E.’s “Quicktime with Slime” segment, Ye was asked who he thought was better between Common and Kweli, and he went off:

“Oh, definitely Common. Are you—man … Common is a thousand times better rapper than Kweli. What is you talkin’ bout?”

Things then veered into more personal (and somewhat comical) territory:

“No, but also, Kweli be gettin’ up, and like, ‘come back home.’ Home where, nigga? … That’s my issue, man, and all these backhand—’oh yea, you know, Ye, he’s a billionaire, but fuck him being a billionaire … he not like Dave Chappelle, he not like down with the people, he not…’ If I’d be like you, Kweli, I’d be where you at. Now if you take the average, 99 percent of people, say, ‘do you wanna be Kweli, or do you wanna be Ye, mo’ people gon’ wanna be Ye, Kweli!”
