Back in December, Kamaiyah blessed the world with her latest body of work No Explanations, an 11-track offering that saw a couple of features from Jackboy and Mozzy. Today, the Bay Area star drops off a new video from that project for “Bend Da Corner,” which continues Kamaiyah’s penchant for being real and enjoying her well-deserved success to the fullest:
“How you hatin’ and ain’t got a car, I rock Rolex, not a Audemars, hit the corner and I’m slidin’ off, my own shit, what I’m vibin’ off, don’t like the rap with the cap in it, I like the shit, wit’ slap in it/”
Directed by Damien Sandoval, the accompanying clip shows Kamaiyah vibing to her music in different locations of a dope-looking residence — including in the bedroom, where she dons some sexy attire during her performance. As the title would suggest, she can also be seen on top of her BMW i8 as it swerves through the streets. It just seems like she’s found enjoyment and happiness in her life, and that positivity oozes out of the screen as inspiration for her fans to take in.
Last year was a busy one for Kamaiyah as well. First, she released her third official offering Got It Made, which contained 10 cuts and assists from J. Espinosa, Trina, and fellow Oakland artist Capolow. Later on, she and Capolow would team up for the joint project Oakland Nights, a 10-track offering with additional contributions from RJmrLA and Bay Area legend Keak da Sneak. She also released a wealth of videos for tracks standouts like “Set It Up,” “Whatever Whenever,” “Project Baby,” “Go Crazy,” “Extravagant,” “Black Excellence,” “Pressure,” “Gang Gang,” and “Still I Rise.”
