Kamaiyah has announced her first headlining tour.
In an Instagram post, Kamaiyah shared the tour dates and cities for the “Got It Made Tour.” She captioned the post, “My first tour the Got It Made Tour starts April 18th 🙏🏾 see y’all soon tickets go on sale Friday.”
The tour is set to kick off on Apr. 18 in Austin, Texas and will end May 20 in Los Angeles, California. Tickets go on sale this Friday (Mar. 13)
Kamaiyah’s Got It Made album was released on Feb. 21 and consisted of 10 tracks and featured appearances from Trina, J. Espinosa, and Capolow. She released the album through her own label, GRND.WRK. The Bay Area rapper spoke with Vibe about launching her very own Empire imprint, that she created last year.
“It’s very important and vital because a lot of people feel you need a man to make you an artist— [that] you need a man to mold you into what you need to be,” she told the outlet about starting her own label.
The “Set It Up” rapper was previously signed to Interscope Records and YG’s 4Hunnid Records.
“I signed too fast, but I never wanted to sign,” she revealed. “I was always the artist that was like, I don’t want no deal. I want to hustle because I knew where I come from. Everybody does it independently. But at that time, it was the best decision for everybody. I took that L for the team and we learned a lot. It was like four years of music business school.”
Kamaiyah is not worried about being a female in a male-dominated industry. In an interview with GQ, she spoke about the industry being a “popularity contest.”
“I think it’s more so a popularity contest. It’s more about who you’re standing next to. At the point, I’m gonna want to go stand next to Cardi B over Kamaiyah, because she’s the biggest pop diva. That’s all it is. Popularity,” she said.
