Waka Flocka Flame is in hot water with fans after suggesting that Donald Trump is a better president than Barack Obama. The “No Hands” rapper made the remark on Instagram while commenting on a post by DJ Akademiks.
In the post, Akademiks included a clip from Obama’s recent appearance on the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris campaign trail. At the socially-distanced rally, Obama slammed Trump’s inability to take “the [presidency] seriously.”
“The big homie [Barack Obama] violated [Donald Trump] at a rally event today,” Akademiks captioned.
Waka Flocka popped up in the post’s comments when one follower wrote, “People who really think Trump is a better President than Obama [are clowns].”
“Guess I’m a clown,” Flocka replied.
The rapper doubled-down on his stance in follow-up posts later on. On one, he wrote, “There are two types of people in this world: Those who resist change in favor of nostalgia and those who move with the times and create a better future.”
On his Instagram Story, Flocka also appeared to take shots at Joe Biden’s proposed tax rates. 50 Cent made a similar criticism earlier this week when he endorsed Trump for reelection.
“WHAT THE FU*K! (VOTE For TRUMP) IM OUT,” 50 previously wrote on Instagram. “FU*K NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like Black people 62% are you out of ya fu*king mind.”
Waka hasn’t outright endorsed Trump, but he did receive some swift backlash from fans on Twitter.
“IDK why people are SO surprised 50 Cent & Waka Flocka support Trump,” one person wrote. “Half your favorite entertainers are going to vote for him. Being rich is a political party in itself.”
“I’m so not here for Black men (Waka stupid ass Flocka) in real time disrespecting Obama. Like wtf?” tweeted another. “He was the first Black president! He is 1 out of 45 & is the ultimate sign of hope for young Black boys.”
50 Cent has faced criticism, too, for supporting Trump — most recently from his ex-girlfriend, comedian Chelsea Handler. See Waka’s and fans’ social media posts below.
