50 Cent may be looking for a new place to call home this November, as the rapper now says he plans on “packing” his bags if Donald Trump is not reelected. Earlier this week, 50 endorsed Trump while criticizing Joe Biden’s proposed tax rates.
On Instagram, the New York native shared a comment left on one of his posts by Ari Melber, the host of MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber.” In the comment, Melber poked fun at 50 for posting a segment from Fox News, writing, “You getting your news from over there now!?”
“50 come home,” he added with a peacock emoji, referring to NBC.
The “Many Men” rapper responded by sharing a screenshot of Melber’s comment and tagging the journalist.
“[Ari Melber] explain 62% to me,” 50 wrote. “I’m packing my bags everybody that has money is gonna move.”
50 previously took issue with Biden’s proposed 62 percent tax rate, which would affect those living in California and New York earning over $400,000 per year. In an earlier Instagram post, 50 argued against the rate and urged his followers to vote for Trump.
“WHAT THE FU*K! (VOTE For TRUMP) I’M OUT,” he wrote. “FU*K NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya fu*king mind.”
50 later doubled-down on the endorsement, writing, “I don’t want to be 20 cent. 62% is a very, very, bad idea. i don’t like it!”
Biden rolled out his tax proposals earlier this week, one of them being the combined state and local statutory income tax rates of 62 percent. Those earning less than $400,000 annually, however, would receive a tax cut.
50’s Trump endorsement not only landed him in hot water on social media, but also with an ex-girlfriend. On Twitter, comedian Chelsea Handler said he was no longer her “favorite ex-boyfriend,” which 50 reposted on his Instagram.
“Oh my God this is affecting my love life now,” he wrote. “[Chelsea Handler] I love ya Gator, don’t let Trump and joe Biden come between us girl.”
