The current situation at hand has left many of the world’s creatives with plenty of free time to create some dope art. This is especially the case in regards to hip hop — the likes of Trippie Redd and Gmac Cash have already revealed music dedicated to the pandemic. Now, Gunna and Young Thug have teamed up with producer Turbo for the track “Quarantine Clean,” which sees them mixing their usual bravado with the Coronavirus crisis that we’re all dealing with:
“Yeah, I’m quarantine-clean but got a slime disease, I got h*** on they knees, they not tryin’ to leave/
Time to floss ‘cause I got money right behind my teeth, we done loaded up in this water, now I gotta hide my knees/
I got mamas in the boondocks, she livin’ on the ground eatin’ like a caveman/
She livin’ on the ground, dressin’ like a caveman, I bought my dawg a house, it’s no longer vacant/
Why would a disease come around when you get rich? Seem like when you get money, rape come easy for a b***h…/”
Young Thug has definitely been active in regards to Coronavirus — not only has he shown support for the medical workers via social media, he even directed his followers to a certain scripture from Chronicles:
“Whenever I hold back the rain or send locusts to eat up the crops or send an epidemic on my people, if they pray to me and repent and turn away from the evil they have been doing, then I will hear them in heaven, forgive their sins, and make their land prosperous again.”
