Last year, YSL artist Gunna liberated his official debut album, Drip Or Drown 2, following a slew of successful mixtapes — including 2018’s Drip Harder with Lil Baby. Now, he’s officially announced that his new project, titled Wunna, is on the way, complete with a Spike Jordan-directed promotional clip.
Today, he follows that with a new track titled “Skybox,” which features Gunna talking that money talk we know him for over crisp production courtesy of his official DJ, Taurus:
“Put some diamonds in Chrome Hearts lens/
Bought a new Benz, lost some more friends/
Stretchin’ my hands, money all in/
F***in’ her friend, breakin’ her back/
Hundred in tens, count it in hands, trust in God, then keep an FN/
I gotta go, I gotta spend, I drove a boat, I’ll drive again/
Ain’t got no note, I ain’t got no rent, I am a G.O.A.T., I am a man…/”
The accompanying visual switches from stop-motion animation to real life, showing Gunna on a hot air balloon in the sky before crash landing in what looks like Morocco and living it up with the area’s residents.
“Skybox” is the first single from Gunna since last year’s “Don’t Get Me Started” with Carnage and Pia Mia and the Nghtmre-assisted “Cash Cow.” He’s also been featured on a slew of tracks by his peers over the past year, including French Montana, G-Eazy, Nav and Moneybagg Yo. Two tracks in particular — Chris Brown’s “Heat” and Young Thug’s “Hot” — have been charted high on Billboard, earning Gunna multiple Platinum plaque certifications.
Press play on “Skybox” below, which is also available on all major streaming platforms. In related news, Gunna also makes an appearance on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Stop Playing,” which is taken from her latest release Suga. You can check that out here.
