Everything Travis Scott touches has turned to gold these past couple of years. Further proof of this would be the 2019 JackBoys compilation, an introduction to Scott’s own rising stars that landed at number one of the Billboard 200 its first week out. In addition to Sheck Wes, Don Toliver, Luxury Tax and Chase B, the seven-track EP saw additional appearances from Lil Baby, Rosalia, Quavo, Offset and the late Pop Smoke.
Following the previously released “Highest In The Room,” “Gatti” and “Gang Gang,” fans get to check out a new visual for “Out West,” a collaboration between Travis Scott and Young Thug. The clip sees Scott inviting a guest out to what turns into one of the wildest house parties ever. In a strange but not-that-surprising twist, that guest turns out to be the legendary Quincy Jones, who is so unmoved by the raucousness that he found time to make him a sandwich in the midst of the chaos.
Prior to the JackBoys release, Travis Scott delivered 2018’s Astroworld, which skyrocketed to the top of various music charts around the world. That project saw 17 tracks and appearances from the likes of Frank Ocean, 21 Savage, Gunna, NAV, Tame Impala, Pharrell Williams, Kid Cudi, Quavo, Takeoff, Swae Lee, and Drake, the last two of whom help Scott earn a Billboard single number one with the chameleon single “Sicko Mode.” In the same year, he and super-socialite Kylie Jenner gave birth to his daughter Stormi, which almost certainly added to his exponentially increasing star power. This year, he and Chase B are looking to further expand into the fashion world via their Houston store Space Village, presumably after their city and the world gets through the current pandemic.
In the meantime, fans can press play on the wacky “Out West” video below.
