Gunna is making his fans very happy with his latest announcement.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday night (Feb. 9), the “Drip Too Hard” rapper informed his followers that he’ll be dropping new music next week. While he didn’t specify whether the release will be in the form of a single, EP or album, his fans are delighted.
“I’m dropping something next week so ima post this for now,” he captioned a photo of himself wearing a purple tracksuit.
This isn’t the first time Gunna has teased new music. In January, he suggested that he’d be dropping off something new this month with a tweet reading, “FEBRUARY!!!!!”
Back in September, Gunna told Hot New Hip Hop that he’d be releasing new music “very, very soon,” adding that he and Young Thug have lots of material in the vault.
“It’s very important to stay how I came in, but I still want to elevate and grow,” he told the outlet about his next full-length project. “I don’t try to just stay the same because I already did that. So, it’s instilled in me. It’s got to stay in me, but I still try to elevate and do more.”
Gunna also addressed the possibility of a joint project with Moneybagg Yo.
“When we vibing and we got hard sh*t, you just damn near thinking like, ‘We might as well put out a project,’” he said.
Last year, Gunna released his debut effort, Drip or Drown 2. The record featured the likes of Playboi Carti, label boss Thugger and Lil Baby and served as the second installment of his initial 2017 mixtape. Most recently, Gunna teamed up with NGHTMRE for “Cash Cow,” Koffee for “W” and appeared on Young Thug’s So Much Fun (Deluxe) album on the Travis Scott-assisted “Hot (Remix).”
