This past week, EST Gee released his latest body of work Bigger Than Life or Death, which sees 15 cuts and additional features from Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, Rylo Rodriguez, Future, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Yo Gotti, and Pooh Shiesty. So far, he’s already fed the streets with videos from said project for “Lick Back,” “Capitol 1,” “Price Tag,” and the title track — today, fans get another for the opening track “Riata Dada,” a TooDope, Akachi, Southside, and TM88-produced effort that sees the Louisville, KY star offering a proper introduction for anyone who’s not familiar with his epic status:
“Guccis on me, semi spit like a run-on sentence, it ain’t no comma, if I wasn’t this, then I probably been done signed with DJ Drama, but I’m thuggin’ and I’m shinin’, fuck with coke, I roll with Gotti, when he met me, I had sixty, all fifty stuffed in my pocket, before I signed it, me and all my partners, diamond chains and watches, we like mobsters, only difference, we sip syrup with our pasta…”
Courtesy of Diesel Films, the accompanying clip for “Riata Dada” is a lesson in excess, with EST Gee living a true rockstar lifestyle. All of the usual facets of stardom are present and in abundance — money, jewelry, women, fast cars, smoke, and more. Peers like 42 Dugg, Yo Gotti, and even Kodak Black make cameo appearances along with quick journey.
Last year, EST Gee dropped off not one, but two bodies of work — Ion Feel Nun and I Still Don’t Feel Nun, the latter of which made landfall in December and featured collaborations with the likes of Kevin Gates, YFN Lucci, Moneybagg Yo, Jack Harlow, and Babyface Ray. Gee’s also been busy contributing verses to songs from his peers, including OMB Bloodbath’s “Not Gang,” Icewear Vezzo’s “Kobe Bryant,” and Bankroll Freddie’s “Real Street Nigga.”
