It’s only been about a month since Kodak Black celebrated another year of life with the four-track EP Happy Birthday Kodak, and he’s already back with some new heat for his fans to enjoy. This week, the Floridian emcee liberates a new single titled “Senseless,” a Buddah Bless-produced effort that seems to take inspiration from YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s AI YoungBoy 2 standout “Make No Sense.” The track sees Kodak rapping about his younger years in the streets and current spoils as a man of wealth:
“Fly lifestyle, I’m rocking Amiri with the Louis Vuitton, crack rocks samples, if you like it, you get two for one, fly lifestyle, I’m rocking Givenchy with the Dolce Gabbana, hotbox, sending Yola, smoking ZaZa, pulling up to McDonald’s, heard you got some guala, don’t be stupid, all my niggas robbers, heard you want some problems, keep it cute, ‘cause all my niggas shottas…”
Shot by Killer Black, the video sees Kodak Black making a visit to his hometown of Pompano Beach, hanging with his crew in different locations around the Golden Acres apartment complex. The buildings are juxtaposed with the current ingredients of a rich man’s lifestyle — fly jewelry, high-end cars, beautiful women, and more.
A month prior to Happy Birthday Kodak, the Sniper Gang talent released another EP titled Haitian Boy Kodak, which contained well-received cuts like “Z Look Jamaican,” “Basement On Fire,” “Maffioso,” and “Don’t Leave Me.” His last full-length LP, Bill Israel, made landfall last year and saw contributions from Tory Lanez, Jackboy, Gucci Mane, CBE, and Lil Yachty over 11 tracks. Bill Israel is also notable for the fact that the album dropped while Kodak was still behind bars — a period that came to an end thanks to a final hour pardon from departing president Donald Trump in January.
