It’s been about four long years since Maroon 5 liberated their sixth studio album Red Pill Blues, which boasted 10 tracks and additional features from SZA, A$AP Rocky, Julia Michaels, and LunchMoney Lewis. Several deluxe editions and bonus tracks were later spawned from the original release, adding on some dope collaborations with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Cardi B. Overall, Red Pill Blues was a pretty big success, landing at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 with 122,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release — subsequently, the project earned Maroon 5 a Platinum plaque.

Since then, we’ve received a couple of high-profile singles from the Los Angeles band, including the hugely successful “Memories” and “Nobody’s Love.” This week, they add to that with “Beautiful Mistakes,” a blackbear and Andrew Goldstein-produced offering that features an assist from Megan Thee Stallion. The track sees both Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Thee Stallion harmonizing about lost relationships — something that these two are probably not worrying about in real life, given their bods with Behati Prinsloo Levine and Pardison Fontaine, respectively:

“It’s beautiful, it’s bittersweet, you’re like a broken home to me, I take a shot of memories, and black out like an empty street, I fill my days with the way you walk, and fill my nights with broken dreams, I make up lies inside my head, like one day you’ll come back to me/”

The track also sees a CGI-heavy video that matches the warm vibe reverberated throughout. The clip is bursting with colors and sees the artists flying around the city in their cars, making for a final product that their mutual fans are sure to enjoy.
