Since the landing on the scene with their 2002 debut, Songs About Jane, Maroon 5 has been a non-stop hitmaker, churning out chart-toppers like “Moves like Jagger” and “She Will Be Loved” along the way. The three-time Grammy award winners will be recognized for all of their career-spanning accomplishments by the Teen Choice Awards.
On Sunday, August 13, Maroon 5 will be the recipients of the Teen Choice Awards Decade Award. The honor is the result of the impact the band fronted by Adam Levine has had on pop music and culture, as well as their evolution over the years.
Airing on Fox, this year’s Teen Choice Awards will take place at the University of Southern California’s Galen Center. Entertainers who have achieved notable success in the areas of music, film, sports and fashion are nominated for trophies. Award winners will be selected voters who are all between the ages of 13 to 19.
Ed Sheeran, Zendaya and Lil Yachty, who will also perform, are expected to appear at next week’s event. The “Minnesota” rapper will bring his “Forever Young” single to life, and will also join fellow newcomer Kyle for a live rendition of their hit “iSpy”, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. French Montana, Rita Ora and Rae Sremmurd are also scheduled to hit the stage.
