Maroon 5 have long established themselves as tried-and-true hitmakers, and it looks as though they have yet another winner on their hands. For their new smooth single, “Whiskey,” the veteran pop group recruited the likes of A$AP Rocky, helping give the track a little extra special sauce. The song, which is slated to appear on Maroon 5’s new album Red Pill Blues, waxes poetic about intoxicating romance, comparing the kiss of a woman to the very liquor that inspired the title.
“All of that tequila’s a killer,” Rocky spits, mixing it up. “A little vodka break her off something proper / Pop a cork and play spin the bottle every time you kiss me.”
Red Pill Blues is slated for a Nov. 3 release, and will also include the SZA-featured “What Lovers Do.”
