Back in September, Moneybagg Yo and Blac Youngsta joined forces for the joint project Code Red, which saw 13 tracks and appearances from City Girls, 42 Dugg, DaBaby, Lil Migo, Yo Gotti, Pooh Sheisty, and more. This week, the duo unveils a new visual for the album opener “Birthplace,” which is produced by YC and sees the artists repping hard for their hometown of Memphis, TN:
“I get money, f*** you think? Smokin’ ‘Za Rule,’ Murder Inc., poured up in a dirty drink, sippin’ with my sneaky link, hit her on the kitchen sink, she hollerin’ out, energy, tell her what she wanna hear, she be like, “You sendin’ me”/
Lingo in my wordplay, all a nigga get is M’s, represent my birthplace, hitters come through with that yeah, at your top like hairspray, do ‘em in the worst way, his n***as didn’t ride for him, they just got shirts made/”
The visual is courtesy of GT Films and shows Youngsta and Moneybagg in a mansion that looks like it came from the Addams family. Inside, they flex money and jewelry while lingerie-clad women hang around them.
Prior to Code Red, Moneybagg Yo unveiled his third studio LP Time Served in January, which boasted 15 cuts and assists from the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Fredo Bang, Summer Walker, Future, and Lil Baby. That project scored Moneybagg a top three spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to 66,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release, eventually landing him a Gold plaque. He later followed Time Served with a deluxe version, which added on seven additional songs. As for his counterpart, Blac Youngsta is working on his forthcoming project F*** Everybody 3, which is set to be released this month.
