In September, Moneybagg Yo and Blac Youngsta surprise-dropped their joint effort Code Red. As the project went on to debut at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, the duo celebrated by releasing their latest music video “Trickin’ Ass N****.” In the new GT Films-directed visual, the rappers are seen working on cars in a shop, while flipping to scenes of girls dancing with them in the car lot.
On his verse, Moneybagg Yo raps about knowing his worth:
“Trickin’ ass n***a, that’s somethin’ I would never be. I won’t buy you nothin’ you can’t afford yourself f**kin’ with me, no ma’am. B***h, I’m status which means just to be in my presence is a fee. Booty tatted, she call me daddy like I’m old enough to be, go H.A.M.”
Prior to this, Moneybagg Yo dropped the visual for “SRT,” the project’s finale track featuring BIG30 and Pooh Shiesty. Equipped with a total of 13 records, Bagg and Youngsta managed to secure features from including fellow CMG members Yo Gotti, 42 Dugg, and Lil Migo — as well as Big 30, Pooh Shiesty and Ari.
One of the standout records on the project includes the “Said Sum (Remix),” which features none other than the City Girls and DaBaby. In other CMG-related news, Yo Gotti’s two singles “Recession Proof” and “Stay Ur Distance” continue to be on rotation during the ongoing pandemic along with the aforementioned “Said Sum” hit.
In an interview earlier this year, Moneybagg Yo expanded on what he does to get himself in the zone to create his signature sound:
“ A lot of the time when I want to get gutter, the type of songs that I make, I go back and go to Atlanta or Memphis and go sit around, go to the hood, chill, vibe or go to my favorite spot to eat where I’m from. If I’m trying to go to a whole other space I’ll go to Miami or L.A. for those vibes.”
