It’s been almost a full year since YK Osiris released his official debut The Golden Child, which was led by the chart topping singles “Valentine” and “Worth It.” Now, he’s back with his new single “Money Keep Coming,” which is produced by Rice N’ Peas and sees Osiris speaking on his struggle and eventual success:
“N***a really came from the bottom, now they mad I’m up, I was down in my d, had to go get that s*** from the mud, I ain’t had no handouts, they say I’m the man now, n***as who hatin’ they all on my face, I tell ‘em they fans now/
You don’t know the struggle, this s*** off the muscle, they mad that I flex, no competition, I’m killin’ these n***as, I’m steppin’ on necks, I got a check, I got a check, I put my hand to the Man, I gotta thank God that I’m blessed…/”
The Jon J.-directed visual starts with a young YK Osiris writing while thinking about his future, which comes to life on the television in front of him. In present day, the Jacksonville star shows off his wealth while reconnecting with his old stomping grounds — an inspirational display for anyone who’s working hard to break the proverbial ceiling with their respective talents.
The Golden Child made landfall last October and boasted 15 tracks and appearances from Tory Lanez, Ty Dolla $ign, Kehlani, Russ, and Jah Vinci. In that same year, he joined the likes of Rico Nasty, DaBaby, Cordae, Roddy Ricch, Blueface, and Tierra Whack as the latest XXL Freshman class, and, in addition to his own loose cut “Freaky Dancer,” collaborated with DaBaby on the KIRK cut “Gospel” along with Gucci Mane and Chance The Rapper.
Press play on “Money Keep Coming” below. Given the timing, it’s possible that YK Osiris’ sophomore release is on the horizon.
