YK Osiris was recently released on $150,000 bond after being arrested for assault by strangulation in Georgia. As previously reported, the 2019 XXL Freshman is facing felony charges for the assault after allegedly attacking his girlfriend during his birthday party back in September. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Osiris’ girlfriend accused him of chasing her up the stairs, choking her, and biting her face.
The Shade Room has since provided an update on the case, where YK Osiris maintains his innocence. Sources have told the outlet that there are two sides to the story. In fact, there are said to be witnesses who are advocating for Osiris’ innocence, and there might even be evidence that could exonerate him.
The Fulton County District Attorney allowed for Osiris to be released on bond last Saturday morning (Nov. 9), after he turned himself in to authorities. He was arrested on Nov. 4, and was initially denied bail.
The incident allegedly took place after the “Worth It” singer’s girlfriend confronted him about a photo in his phone of a scantily clad woman. The girlfriend also alleged that Osiris threatened her by saying, “I am going to slap the sh-t out of you.” Fulton County police confirmed that the woman had a mark under her left eye, which is where she claims Osiris bit her.
Osiris’ attorney Gabe Banks said in a statement, “YK Osiris was granted a consent bond and was recently released from the Fulton County Jail over the weekend. YK Osiris maintains his innocence and looks forward to his day in court to defend against all of the allegations against him. YK Osiris would like to thank his family, friends, and all of his fans for their continued support.”
After the singer was released, he took to Instagram Live, where he could be seen smiling and singing along to Akon’s “Locked Up.”
