Next month, Headie One will liberate his latest body of work Too Loyal… For My Own Good, which was announced following his performance at this year’s Wireless Festival. The project is also expected to house June’s “Pound Signs” and last month’s banger “2 Chains.”
Yesterday (Sept. 16), the North London emcee added to that with the ForeignGotEm and Quincy Tellem-produced cut “Beggars Can’t Be Choosers,” which sticks to the street-oriented subject matter that Headie One is well-known for:
“Got yutes that I loved, that I can’t be cool with, yutes I gotta let down, that I went school with, had this ching sound I was on the wing with, mask off like Future, how me and him got beef now? We sat down and ate Cauli noodles, sawed shotgun, I risked it all with, beggars can’t be choosers…”
Courtesy of Crematics and Danny Executed This is an accompanying visual for “Beggars Can’t Be Choosers,” which begins at the exact point where the clip for “2 Chains” left off — with Headie One by the water on a bed, which bears the aforementioned project’s title. He eventually walks over to and hops in a Rolls Royce truck, after which he is then seen performing the hard-hitting track in different locations while flexing his well-earned riches. Headie One’s crew and love interest make appearances as well, showing that he’s not making that journey to the top alone.
Upon its eventual release, Too Loyal… For My Own Good will follow last October’s Edna, Headie One’s debut LP that boasted 20 songs and contributions from Kaash Paige, M Huncho, AJ Tracey, Stormzy, Young T & Bugsey, Future, Drake, Skepta, Aitch, Mahalia, and more. Months later, he would add on to the chart-topping album with a deluxe edition, complete with eight additional cuts and features alongside the likes of Burna Boy, RV, and Rich The Kid.
