A couple of weeks ago, Trae Tha Truth blessed the masses with his latest mixtape 48 Hours After, a continuation of his well-received 48 Hours series. The project comes with 14 tracks and additional assists from Big Pokey, Lil’ Keke, Baby Houston, Jared, and the late DJ Screw.
For his latest, the Houston veteran liberates a visual from said body of work for “Freestyle,”
“King of the streets, tell ‘em ‘guess who’s back,’ in and out of traffic, truck sittin’ on crack, flyest nigga ever, still yellin’ Fat Pat, 50 ain’t enough, tell them niggas back back, ya see, I was in the streets, I be in the field hot steppin’, no cleats, yeen nothin’ solid, keep it movin’, I’on speak, thumbin’ through a check, I been countin’ fo’ bout a week…”
Shot by Miaci, the video brings us to a tried and true H-Town function. Trae can be seen mobbing heavy in a neighborhood filled to the brim with bright purple slabs decked out with trunk signs, swangas, and — presumably — the loudest subwoofers imaginable. Add in the children and family atmosphere, and you have a beautiful day in Trae’s vibrant community.
Back in February, Trae and Mysonne teamed up for If You’re Scared Stay Inside, a 14-track body of work with a slew of contributions from Jim Jones, Anthony Hamilton, Bun B, Conway the Machine, David Banner, E-40, T.I., and plenty more. His last official LP, Exhale, made landfall back in 2019.

In related news, Trae’s Howdy Homemade Ice Cream shop in Katy, TX has a grand opening July 22. As reiterated in a social media post, the business will be employed with special needs children.
