Although Wizkid released his Made In Lagos project during the chilly months of quarantine, many fans would agree it will get its full shine this upcoming summer. The body of work is filled with feel-good tunes perfect for the warmer weather and roof tops. Wiz has finally unleashed the official video for a stand-out track from the project, the Tems-assisted “Essence.” On the song, Tems opens up with her sensual verse:
Say I wanna leave you in the mornin’, but I need you now, yeah, yeah/ I find you, I give you all you needin’ I know you what you like/ I feel it comin’, time is of the essence, I tried to teach you/ But I’m gon’ need some lessons, I need to give it all. I tried to leave but I can’t/ I don’t know why, you’re the one. Turn me out of my mind
So far from the project, we’ve received equally visually stunning visuals for cuts like the Burna Boy-assisted “Ginger” and “No Stress.” Wizkid’s fourth studio album Made In Lagos contains 14 tracks and features from Burna Boy, Skepta, Damian Marley, H.E.R., Ella Mai, Tems, and more. The week of its release, fans got to check out a new visual from the project for the P2J-produced “No Stress.”
Prior to Made In Lagos, WizKid made his big label introduction with Sounds From The Other Side, an A-list effort that saw 12 cuts and assists from Ty Dolla $ign, Chris Brown, Major Lazer, Trey Songz, and more. While it didn’t make it to within the top half of the Billboard 200, the album landed on several charts around the world — it even peaked at number two on Billboard’s US World Albums list. The Drake-assisted cut “Come Closer” also earned WizKid a Gold plaque.
