O.T. Genasis just enlisted some all-star talent for “Back To You,” his newest single featuring Chris Brown on the hook alongside the legendary Charlie Wilson. Mr. Wilson’s vocals on the track make the entire song, as the sample of the unmistakable classic “Outstanding” by The Gap Band plays throughout it. On “Back To You,” Chris Breezy catches himself reminiscing:
“Somethin’ ‘bout the way that you make me feel, girl. Somethin’, cruisin’ down Rodeo, damn, I just had a déjà vu. I used to buy you those shoes. You know Chanel, that new clutch. But fancy things can’t buy love. Ooh, I, I’m spending all my time on you, doing all the things I said I wasn’t. How did you make me fall for you? Then turn around and act like it wasn’t nothin’.”
Although his last full-length project was 2016’s Coke N Butter, O.T. Genasis has assisted in a slew of tracks this year, including “Let Me” by Ocho Sneak, “Pinky Ring” by Ne-Yo, and “Where You From (Remix)” by Watts Up Mickey. He also dropped off his confident single back in May titled “I Look Good.”
In his episode of REVOLT’s Drink Champs, O.T. Genasis spoke about how he believed in his “Everybody Mad” from the beginning, but it took the coveted Beyonce cosign to get really get it going:
“I was trying to tell y’all this the whole time.’ I’m saying it to Atlantic, I’m saying it to DJs, I’m saying this is me, personally. I think it’s a dope record. I don’t know what it is. But, I think it’s a dope record. So, get behind the song. Everybody just lollygagging the whole time. I shot a dope video, video lit. Now Beyoncé do it, now every DJ got it in their set.”
