Currently, Kevin Gates is said to be working on his forthcoming album Khaza, and has already blessed his fans with high-quality cuts like “Power” with Dermot Kennedy, “Amsterdam (Rooftop Luv),” “Give It All I Got,” “Wonderland,” and “Weeks.” Keeping the momentum going, the Baton Rouge star returns with the Isaiah Valmont, Taz Taylor, and Rio Leyva-produced single “Plug Daughter 2,” a presumed sequel to the Luca Brasi 2 standout “Plug Daughter.” The track is pretty straight to the point, as the title represents a love interest that Gates has apparently begun a relationship with:
“She know I love her to death, you heard me? I’m up in rank and I do this for real, you lil’ bitty bitch and I’m still in the field, hey, I’m up in rank and I’m still in the field, the shit that I rap ‘bout, it might get me killed, you rap what you hear and I rap what I live/
I’m fuckin’ with the plug daughter, plug daughter, plug daughter, hol’ on, that’s my plug callin’, plug callin’, plug callin’…/”
Directed by Nicky Films, Gates can be seen in a beautiful location that looks like a forest-heavy village in South America. Things remain fairly simple throughout, with the Bread Winners Association boss communicating with a phone and riding through his tropical environment in a Cadillac truck.
Khaza will follow 2019’s I’m Him, Gates’ sophomore LP that saw 17 tracks and production assists from CashMoneyAP, Take A Daytrip, Richie Souf, Yung Lan, Nard & B, Nick Mira, DJ Chose, Go Grizzly, and more. That same year also saw the EP Only The Generals Gon Understand. More recently, Gates could also be heard contributing to tracks like 2 Chainz’s “Ziploc” and Fredo Bang’s “No Security.”
