Last week, French Montana blessed the masses with his fourth studio LP They Got Amnesia, which comes with 21 tracks and a wealth of features from Rick Ross, Kodak Black, Pop Smoke, Lil Durk, Doja Cat, and more. Just before the turkey-filled holiday, he decided to unload a new visual from They Got Amnesia for “Bag Season,” a collaboration alongside Lil Tjay that — as the title makes clear — sees the two focused on getting to the money by any means necessary:
“I be feelin’ like the man when I walk through, I get twenty-five bands just to walk through, still shippin’ to land when it’s full through, couple milli off a plan that I sort through, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want all the bags, how they open them doors, they mad, I’m steady winnin’, they forcin’ bad, hе said he winnin’, it cost to brag, I earn a chip and then toss thе bag…”
The accompanying clip for the DJ Kronic Beats-produced banger keeps the cinematic style of some of French’s previous drops, beginning with a smash and grab robbery of a luxury bag store by masked assailants. It’s revealed that Tjay was the tech mastermind behind the big heist, after which he then connects with French in a packed nightclub.
In addition to the new album, French also gifted us with a short film of the same name that’s “based on a true story” — specifically, when French found himself in the midst of a health scare in 2019. After collapsing and ending up hospitalized, the roughly 13-minute video takes us through some choice cuts from They Got Amnesia as French fights through his demons, reflects on his loved ones, records music from his phone, and more.
Press play on said short film and the flashy visual for “Bag Season.”
