Last year, French Montana kept his quarantined fans fed with CB5, the fifth installment of his Coke Boys series that originally saw 19 tracks with additional features from Jim Jones, Lil Durk, Pop Smoke, Jack Harlow, Chinx, A$AP Rocky, Benny The Butcher, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and more. More recently, he could be heard contributing to tracks like Jones and Harry Fraud’s “Bada Bing,” CJ’s “Whoopty NYC,” Stove God Cooks’ “Dope,” and “Been To War,” a song from the television series “Godfather of Harlem” that also features Swizz Beatz and DMX.
Today, the South Bronx veteran delivers a new offering titled “FWMGAB” (or “Fuck With Me, Get A Bag”), a StoopidOnDaBeat and Butter Beats-produced cut that should be an inspiration for any who’s looking to build their finances:
“Diamonds disco-flashin’, drip toe-taggin’, mink coat draggin’, block boy trappin’, hot boy in action, don’t need caption, rocks Dame Dashin’, neck breakdancin’, blue mist hookah, snipe game super, she don’t buss it open, call back the Uber, I’m a dog, I’m a beast, got it on, never least, niggas out, leave the freaks, my condolence to the streets…”
Prior to the release of “FWMGAB,” Bad Boy — and REVOLT — head honcho Diddy made zero qualms about his feelings on the track, which samples Jerry Rivera’s 90’s hit “Amores Como El Nuestro” — a classic utilized by many others in the past:
“We make hits. We been making hits all y’all lives, your whole lives, ever since y’all been born. Even before you were thought of, we been making hits. And we not gone stop this summer, alright? Song of the summer.”
Montana’s last official LP, simply called MONTANA, was released back in 2019. Much like CB5, MONTANA contained a slew of contributions from the likes of Gunna, Juicy J, Kodak Black, Kevin Gates, Post Malone, Swae Lee, Cardi B, Drake, and City Girls, among others.
