Kanye West revealed he’s still a Donald Trump supporter during his wide-ranging interview with REVOLT TV’s “Drink Champs” on Thursday night (Nov. 4). Despite telling Forbes he was “taking the red hat off” last year, Ye declared to “Drink Champs” co-hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on Thursday: “I’ve still got a red hat on today, I’ll let y’all know that.”
“I might not got it on [at the moment], but I’ll let y’all know where I stand,” he added.
The 44-year-old also condemned the Me Too movement, calling the international fight against sexual harassment and abuse a form of Orwellian “mind-control.”
“They’ll hit you with the accusations or somebody who you was with 10 years ago,” Kanye said. “And also, there’s women who’ve been through very serious things, pulled in alleys against they will — that’s different than a hug, but it’s classified as the same thing. It’s power and politics. You know, power-hungry maniacs and just control. This is 1984 mind-control we’re in.”
Kanye made the comments while defending his recent Donda and Sunday Service appearances with Marilyn Manson, who is currently being investigated on accusations of rape and sexual, physical and emotional assault. Manson was also featured on the Donda song “Jail, Pt. 2.”
However, Ye brushed off critics’ attempts to “cancel” Manson, saying, “They can’t cancel a song.” He also said he’s “above” cancel culture and isn’t worried about being canceled himself.
“I love [cancel culture],” he said. “I’m above it… I’m running to get canceled.”
Kanye also revealed his vaccination status. The Chicago native is not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, but did say he’s “half-cinated” after receiving one shot.
“I traveled to Paris a couple weeks ago and I had to go through Lisbon ‘cause you can go through Lisbon without being vaccinated,” he admitted.
As reported by REVOLT, Kanye also used his “Drink Champs” segment to claim that Big Sean and John Legend were “used quick by the Democrats” against him, adding, “I don’t rock with neither of them.”
Legend discussed Kanye’s politics earlier on Thursday in an interview with author Danny Goldberg.
“I don’t see Kanye as a political person at all. We never talked about politics. He had never voted before 2020,” Legend said. Instead, the singer believes Kanye “saw in Trump the kind of underdog narcissist that he sees in himself,” fueling his support for the former president.
