Just last month, Smoke DZA tapped in with Dom Kennedy to present his single “No Regrets,” and now he’s back to keep the momentum going with the freshly released “Big Steppa” featuring Westside Gunn and Curren$y. Both songs are set to appear on DZA’s forthcoming The Hustler’s Catalog 2 project, which will officially be available on June 4. On the new track. Smoke DZA is in charge of setting the tone as he handles the opening verse:
Big big steppa, got two foreign hoes/ Got through on rose, got two on froze, got too high for me had to move on those/ Kushedgod iceberg still a nuance though, I got it depending who’s asking, who wanna know?/ No risky business poppin’ ‘cause I’m too on toes
Smoke DZA, Jayy Grams, Nym Lo, 183rd, and OT The Real recently connected for their brand new nine-track collaborative album R.F.C. Money Is The Motive. The new project also boasts appearances from names like Steven Young, Cory Gunz, and Numbers. Most recently, Smoke DZA can be heard on the new track “The Hurt Business” alongside Westside Gunn and Wale from the CONFLICTED official motion picture soundtrack.
Most recently, Westside Gunn shared two tracks “Julia Lang” and “TV Boy,” both arriving with visuals to match. Julia Lang” also sees a short, Revenxnt-directed video that begins with a dapper Gunn in the studio with Julia Lang, and even has a cameo from Conway The Machine. Gunn can also be heard on Joyce Wrice’s freshly released debut album Overgrown, and he actually has his very own interlude on the project.
Last year saw Curren$y releasing a generous amount of projects, many of which were collaborative offerings with others artists or producers. These included The Tonite Show with Curren$y with DJ Fresh, Spring Clean with Fuse, and The Green Tape with Cardo. He and Harry Fraud created a notable amount of music together as well, providing fans with The OutRunners, The Director’s Cut, and Bonus Footage.
