Lil Uzi Vert says his next album will be “legendary.”
During a recent Instagram Live session, the “Money Longer” emcee revealed that he is getting ready to release another project. “Bro, I’mma drop an album, bro,” he said. “I’m not gon’ lie, I’mma go so hard. Everybody that doubted me, I’m still gonna accept y’all right back ‘cause the more the merrier. … I’m not even gonna say this shit is hard because I don’t even know what’s hard no more. This shit going to be legendary though. I know that. And I’m not on no lame shit.”
“I wasn’t capping about that. … I really be on that. I don’t have to cap,” Uzi continued. “I used to have to cap because my shit wasn’t together. … I used to cap when I was broke. I ain’t got to cap no more. And I mean broke in spirit too. I ain’t talking my money. I used to cap when I was broke.”
Last year, the Philly native gave fans clues about his forthcoming album. He said that the project was “coming soon” and promised it would sound like “old Uzi music.”
“So, totally, I’m coming out with an album very soon,” he previously said on Live. “It’s gonna be a gift from me to you. I’m coming out with an album and it’s gonna be really good and classic. Yeah, so, Uzi London.”
“… It’s gonna be a really great one. It’s gonna be one that you never ever get tired of,” Uzi added. “It’s gonna be like that, you know, that sound; I stepped away from that sound.”
The “Baby Pluto” rapper is definitely aiming to promote himself to legendary status. Earlier this year, he revealed that JAY-Z and Juan “OG” Perez, who is president of Roc Nation Sports, compared him to Prince. “OG and Hov said I’m Like Prince, so I’m Lil Prince now,” he tweeted.
