Although he only released Eternal Atake and Eternal Atake (Deluxe) — LUV vs. The World 2 a couple of months ago, Lil Uzi Vert is already teasing a new album. After tweeting that his next LP was “coming soon,” the Philadelphia native fielded questions about the project from fans on Twitter this past weekend (May 16).
As fans speculated about the album, one Twitter user asked Uzi if the project would have the same “energy” as “old Uzi music.” Uzi responded by writing, “Yes I had 2 get my feet wet again if you here my new features I’m back on my sh*t.”
Some of these recent features have included appearances on Future’s new High Off Life album, G Herbo’s PTSD, Lil Baby’s My Turn and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Artist 2.0. In terms of his own releases, Uzi most recently dropped off a new single called “Sasuke.”
He also added on Twitter that he’s feeling “very thankful right now” and therefore “excited” about the new project.
Uzi enjoyed historic success through his Eternal Atake and Eternal Atake (Deluxe) — LUV vs. The World 2 albums. Since every song from both albums entered the Hot 100, he became the first artist ever to have all songs from two different LPs chart in back-to-back weeks.
He also tied Lil Wayne for the second-most simultaneous Hot 100 entries in history, as he secured 22 entries in one week. The only artist to have Uzi and Wayne beat is Drake, who had 27 songs on the Hot 100 during one week in July of 2018.
Eternal Atake also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and currently sits at No. 5. If Uzi’s next album arrives soon and enters within the Top 10, he could potentially have two albums charting within the Billboard 200 Top 10 at the same time.
