Lil Uzi Vert’s long-awaited and surprise-released album Eternal Atake debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The achievement marks the Philadelphia rapper’s second No. 1 debuting album. On Sunday (March 15), he took to Twitter to celebrate.
“Mannnnnnn I Love Y’all So Much,” Uzi wrote. “Thank you For All The Support and Thanks For Loving My Music.”
According to The Source, Eternal Atake has sold under 9,000 copies, but moved 278,000 streaming equivalent units and 400 million on-demand streams. These numbers make it the highest-streamed album since Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter V from 2018.
Furthermore, a week after dropping his 18-track Eternal Atake, Uzi followed up with the deluxe version, Eternal Atake (Deluxe) LUV vs. The World 2. The two-sided and 32-track record hasn’t been out long enough to have reported debut numbers. However, it follows in a similar success as its predecessor, Uzi could have two No. 1 albums this month.
Eternal Atake beat out Jhene Aiko’s Chilombo and Megan Thee Stallion’s Suga, which were both released on March 6. Uzi’s Eternal Atake included a lone feature from The Internet’s Syd, while Eternal Atake (Deluxe) LUV vs. The World 2 offered collaborations with Young Thug, Young Nudy, NAV, Lil Durk, Gunna, Future 21, Savage and Chief Keef, who also contributed production to the album’s original version.
Uzi first teased Eternal Atake in February, when he hinted that the delayed album would finally arrive in two weeks, putting its drop date on March 13. Instead, the rapper delivered the project on March 6, after holding a Twitter poll where fans could vote on their favorite cover art.
Since its release, Eternal Atake has also reached Spotify acclaim, with album cut “Baby Pluto” dethroning Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” from the No. 1 spot on the streaming service’s Top 50 Chart. “The Box” had previously held the top place since Dec. 26.
