Earlier this year, Yelawolf teamed up with Caskey for the 11-track offering Yelawolf Blacksheep, which saw a couple of additional features from Cub da CookUpBoss and DJ Paul. In addition to the project, the Alabama-to-Florida connection have also liberated dope visuals for album cuts “Been A Problem,” “Open,” “Just The Intro,” “Billy And The Purple Datsun,” “Cookies,” and “Million Dollar Deal.” This past weekend, the duo added to that with a new clip for “Daytona,” a Money Montage and Taysty-produced cut that sees the artists rapping about struggle, wealth, and even politics:
“I became the main attraction, turned my pain into art, tryin’ to maintain, how did it remain a passion? Got me ridin’ in a G-Wagon with the diamond stitchin’ and thе suede attachment, seein’ thе paranormal, on such a regular basis, I’m barely normal/
There was too much DMT inside of my baby bottle when my brain was formin’, got me talkin’ to a shaman while I’m eatin’ ramen, learnin’ till I ain’t distorted, scams in the White House, they was countin’ ballots, I ain’t vote, it ain’t important/”
Directed by Legit Looks, the accompanying video for “Daytona” is a day on the racetrack, which Yelawolf and Caskey donning racing suits as high-end whips do laps and donuts around them. Elsewhere, the rappers are seen in the crowd performing their verses and watching the automative sport from the stands.
The same day that the visual for “Daytona” was released, the hard-working Yelawolf and fellow southern star Riff Raff liberated their collaborative project TURQUOiSE TORNADO, which sees seven cuts and assists from Ronny J, Paul Wall, Struggle Jennings, Peso Peso, Danny Swift, and more. On top of that, fans of Yelawolf will also get SLUMAFIA, Mile Zero, and MUDMOUTH before the month of April comes to an end.
