Oakland’s very own Kamaiyah is gearing up for the release of her No Explanations project, which is due on Dec 11. Today, she shares a taste of the upcoming body of work by releasing a visual for “Still I Rise,” a collaboration track with Jackboy. On the new song, Kamaiyah raps about the things she knows she deserves:
“I got crazy don’t I? I go coocoo. Drippin’ brazy don’t I, in that new new. I sold 100 straight nights to get a new coupe. These messages on, that’s my new boo, muah. I enjoy loyalty, ‘cause I am royalty. Baby spoil me, that mean more to me. Treat me like I’m special, that’s gon’ get you foreign keys. Diamonds on my neck.”
Just last week, two Oakland natives Kamaiyah and Capolow linked up to drop their video for “Gang Gang.” Earlier this year, Kamaiyah blessed her fans with her latest project Got It Made, her first independent release since her departure from Interscope. The new mixtape isn’t the first time Kamaiyah and Capolow linked up, as Got It Made features their collab song “Digits.” She’s blessed fans with a slew of visuals this year, including “Go Crazy,” “Extravagant,” and “Project Baby.”
Sniper Gang rapper Jackboy most recently dropped “Man Down” featuring Sada Baby, an early preview of what’s to come from his forthcoming album Love Me While I’m Here out Dec 18 via Empire. This year Jackboy dropped two projects, Jackboy and Living In History, in April and August, respectively. Jackboy saw guest features from names like Kodak Black, Blac Youngsta, Casanova, Warhol.SS, YFN Lucci, and Lil Sean. He assisted on several singles this year including “Instinto” by Harry Nach, “Promised Land” on EMPIRE’s Voices for Change compilation project, “Married To My Enemies” with Tee Grizzley, and “For That” with TEC.
