Lil Wayne left social media in a flurry yesterday (Oct. 29) after he announced his support for President Donald Trump and endorsed his Platinum Plan — a national agenda for Black Americans.
“Just had a great meeting with [Donald Trump],” Weezy tweeted. “Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the Platinum Plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”
While fans and critics responded to the news online, one reaction came from 50 Cent, who just recently redacted his own support for Trump.
Taking to Instagram, 50 shared the photo Weezy had posted of himself and the president.
“Oh no WAYNE,” 50 wrote in the caption. “I WOULD HAVE NEVER TOOK THIS PICTURE.”
Earlier this month, 50 announced his own support for the president’s reelection. On social media, he criticized Joe Biden’s proposed tax plan and encouraged his followers to vote for Trump.
“WHAT THE F*CK! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT,” he wrote in a post. “F*CK NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya f*cking mind.”
Later on, the New Yorker doubled down on his stance, writing, “I’m packing my bags; everybody that has money is gonna move.”
However, after some pressure from his ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler, 50 appeared to rescind his endorsement. Handler told the rapper she’d be “willing to go for another spin” if he changed his mind, prompting him to post, “A what, another spin? Fu*k Donald Trump, I never liked him.”
Since then, 50 hasn’t publicly commented on who he decides to vote for, but Handler assured the hosts of “The Breakfast Club” yesterday that he “absolutely” supports Biden.
“I asked him and he was like, ‘No, I was just screwing around… The taxes are a pain in the ass,’” she explained. “Then he asked me if I was serious about going for another spin with him. I put it on the table — and you know what if I say it, I’ll do it.”
