50 Cent has withdrawn his support for Donald Trump and will “absolutely” be voting for Joe Biden, his ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler says. The comedian was a visitor on “The Breakfast Club” this week where she explained her recent conversations with 50 about his political preferences.
“I DM’d him and said, ‘Please give me a call; I don’t wanna do this publicly,’” she said around the 3:50 mark of the interview. “He called me and I just asked him if he was serious.”
Handler said she initially thought 50 was joking about his endorsement of Trump and asked how he could support a “white supremacist” in office.
“Whether you’re Black or white, it should be a problem for you,” she continued. “I asked him and he was like, ‘No, I was just screwing around… The taxes are a pain in the ass.’ Yeah, but Republicans have told us all how to avoid taxes; so if that’s our goal, we can figure out a state to live in where we don’t have to pay our taxes.”
Handler had initially offered to pay 50’s taxes after the rapper complained about Biden’s proposed higher rates. However, she said that by the end of their conversation that wasn’t necessary because 50 is “absolutely” a Biden supporter.
“He said I could say it on this show,” she said. “Then he asked me if I was serious about going for another spin with him. I put it on the table — and you know what if I say it, I’ll do it.”
Handler previously drew backlash for saying she needed to “remind” 50 that “he was Black” in response to his support for Trump. On “The Breakfast Club,” the comedian apologized for the controversial comments, calling them “inappropriate.”
“I [was] not telling him — as a white woman — [who to vote for] because I misspoke earlier when I said, ‘I had to remind him he was Black.’ I don’t have any business saying anything like that, so I need to apologize to everyone for saying that because that’s inappropriate,” she said on the show.
