Back in May, Polo G released his sophomore LP The Goat, which saw 16 tracks and appearances from Mustard, Juice WRLD, Stunna 4 Vegas, NLE Choppa, Lil Baby, and more. The project is also currently Polo G’s best sold thus far, earning him a number two spot on the Billboard 200 with 99,000 album equivalent units sold. For his latest, the Chicago star delivers a new visual from the project for “Martin & Gina,” which sees Polo G comparing his relationship to that from the classic sitcom “Martin”:
“All I want is your love, I can’t see no bitch after you, off emotions, we did things that we didn’t have to do/
Scared of you leaving, I told lies when you asked for the truth, I second-guessed if you the one, that’s when I didn’t have a clue/
They be Martin and Gina, but we ain’t think about behind the scenes, the way I kill it, lose her voice when she tryin’ to scream…/”
The visual comes courtesy of Reel Goats and is a perfect iteration of Martin and Gina’s apartment. In addition, iconic scenes from the show are recreated with Polo G and comedian Vena “Pretty Vee” Excell playing the title characters.
“Martin & Gina” follows previously released videos for “21,” “Wishing For A Hero,” “33,” “Go Stupid,” and “DND.” Prior to The Goat and its associated videos, Polo G released his debut studio LP Die A Legend, which also scored the rapper a top 10 spot on Billboard. Recently, Polo G joined peers like NLE Choppa, Lil Keed, Fivio Foreign, Mulatto, and more as the latest graduates of XXL’s Freshman class. As such, fans can expect some new freestyles and cyphers from the artist in the coming weeks.
