Earlier this month, Yung Bleu liberated the new EP Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions, which contains six cuts and a single feature from Brooklyn Love. One of the tracks, “You’re Mines Still,” has since become one of the project’s standouts, with the Alabama artist harmonizing about winning his girl back following an apparent conflict. Now, that very track gets a major remix with a new verse from none other than Drake, who adds a somewhat different perspective to the overall vibe of the melancholy cut:
“Pretty face, pretty tempting, put pretty taught me ugly lessons, pretty at me, givin’ more than I was gettin’, so if pretty don’t come with somethin’, well, then I dead it/
Ashamed to tell my friends how much I do for you, ’cause they know that you would never do the same for me/
I wasn’t lookin’ for your secrets, they just came to me, and they contradicted everything you claimed to be…/”
In addition to Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions, Yung Bleu has also blessed his fans with the six-track quarantine EP Since We Inside and, more recently, the third installment of his well-received Bleu Vandross series, which contains 17 tracks and a wealth of assists from Boosie Badazz, Flo Milli, Yo Gotti, Rylo Rodriguez, K CAMP, NoCap, and more. This year also saw the loose cut “Boys II Men.”
Meanwhile, Drake has continued to keep his foothold on music since he released the compilation Dark Lane Demo Tapes in May. In addition to his new contribution, 2020 has also seen the Canadian icon deliver notable verses on Future’s “Life Is Good,” PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Loyal,” Lil Yachty’s “Oprah’s Bank Account,” Headie One’s “Only You Freestyle,” and the DJ Khaled double-header “Greece”/”Popstar.”
