K Camp capped off his nine-year KISS mixtape series with its and final installment, KISS 5 back in April of this year. A new visual for a fan favorite cut off the project just arrived, as K Camp links up with Fabo in their new video for “Tatted Up.” In the visual, the duo kicks it at a tattoo shop surrounded by beautiful women.
On the song, K Camp references some of his favorite figures in the fine art world while rapping to his lady:
“Queen Nefertiti, Kiki, I wanna be your guru. I got the bag, the bag, the bag. You got the ink on your body, you lit. I got the Michelangelo and Leonardo, I’ll paint the picture of that b**ch. You the sh*t, you got them hieroglyphics like Egyptians. Some of this sh*t in encryption.”
KISS 5 included features from Ari Lennox, Jeremih, Yella Beezy, Yung Bleu, Wale, 6lack, and more. In July, K Camp maintained his wave and released a project titled RARE Family as a follow up project. In more recent news, the Atlanta artist dropped off a visual for his collab song with Jacquees on the project titled “What’s On Your Mind” earlier this month, in addition to tapping in with Rubi Rose for her single “Pogo.”
In a recent interview, K Camp elaborated on how an artist can decide when a time is right:
Honestly, I didn’t realize it was three years since the last one. We put out a couple of little projects in-between that time. I dropped Slum Lords 2 (2017), RARE Sound (2018), and Wayy 2 Kritical (2019) trying to get the clubs back; tapping back in with what we originally came out with. K.I.S.S. 5 wasn’t on my mind. I didn’t want to slow n****s down, I wanted to turn n****s up. After you turn them up, you slow it down again.”
