Boosie Badazz has never been one to stay silent about the drama in his life.
On New Year’s Day (Jan. 1), Boosie released a clip of a new song, in which he boldly speaks out about the shooting that left him with a gunshot wound to his leg. The shooting went down last November while the Baton Rouge, La. native was outside of a strip mall in Dallas. After the shooters quickly fled the scene, Bossie was rushed to the hospital. Since the incident, Boosie has been confined to a wheelchair, however, that hasn’t discouraged the seasoned rapper from taunting the suspects.
“Hit me in my leg but it should have been my head, I swear to God,” Boosie raps on the track. “And the bars and extension cords, big facts, we steppin’ hard. You better keep ya 30 because if a nigga kill ya…”
The bars appear to be motivated by his shooting as well as the previous shooting in Dallas that claimed the life of fellow rapper Mo3. Not long after reports of Mo3’s death surfaced online, Boosie hit up his Twitter timeline to vent his feelings. “Trill ENT, FUCK YALL NIGGAS,” he tweeted. Mo3 and Boosie had previously collaborated on their joint project Badazz Mo3, which dropped back in February 2020.
Prior to him previewing the song, Boosie was busy shutting down the rumor that his injury would cause the rapper’s leg to be amputated. Towards the end of November, Boosie confirmed that he was home from the hospital on Twitter. He also made sure everyone knew that he still had both of his legs.
“OUT THE HOSPITAL #athome,” Boosie tweeted. “Thanks to all the ones who prayed fa me N YEAH I STILL GOT MY LEG.”
There’s no confirmation when Boosie’s new song will drop, but the shooters don’t need to hear the CDQ version to get the rapper’s message.
