Mulatto is in the spirit of giving this holiday season.
The “In n Out” emcee and her team recently spent thousands of dollars in a local Walmart to buy gifts and supplies for families in need. In a video that was shared by The Shade Room, there were dozens of carts filled with food, diapers, toys, water, tissue, paper towels, bicycles and more.
Twitter user @JerellSolo said the Atlanta native bought his mother a television and an iPad. He then told another social media user that Mulatto came in his house and was “so cool.”
Mulatto is doing a great job at keeping it positive after she was involved in a ton of controversy surrounding her stage name and alleged comments she made about colorism.
Last month, REVOLT reported that she was considering changing her rap moniker because of the backlash she’s been receiving. In an interview with HipHopDX, the “Bitch From Da Souf” emcee said she’s been thinking about alternate names.
“I can’t say too much because we’re working on something right now, but I would be lying to say it hasn’t crossed my mind before,” Mulatto said. “It is a controversy that I hear and see every day as far as my name goes, so I would be lying to say no I never thought of that. But, I can’t say too much right now because it’s going to be a part of something bigger.”
Last week, she shut down rumors that she said colorism didn’t exist in a Clubhouse room. The lies started circulating on Monday (Nov. 30) after Twitter user @kissmeriver tweeted, “Why would Mulatto go on Clubhouse and say colorism isn’t real??????? Ughhh.”
Mulatto quickly refuted those claims. “I WOULD NEVER SAY NO SHIT LIKE COLORISM DOESN’T EXIST!” she tweeted. In a follow-up message she wrote, “Please stop with the false narrative!”
