Charlamagne tha God is sharing his thoughts on 50 Cent’s recent Donald Trump endorsement.
50’s name has been in headlines since he learned of Joe Biden’s proposed tax plans and announced his intention to support the president’s reelection.
“WHAT THE FUCK! (VOTE For TRUMP) I’M OUT,” the rapper wrote in an Instagram post earlier this week. “FUCK NEW YORK. The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care if Trump doesn’t like Black people 62% are you out of ya fucking mind?”
The “Many Men” emcee received backlash from social media users, but instead of reneging his statement, he doubled down on it, claiming he doesn’t “want to be 20 cent.” He later said he was packing his bags if Biden wins the election, adding, “Everybody that has money is gonna move.”
Despite understanding 50’s concerns, Charlamagne doesn’t believe tax plans should take precedence over racial issues.
”Unlike 50 Cent, I can’t pick racism and bigotry and fascism,” the radio host said during a conversation with Fox Business’ Lisa Kennedy Montgomery. “I can’t choose that over my finances. My finances might just have to take a hit. We gotta get that fascism out of the White House. But I’m not mad at 50, I mean honestly 50 just said out loud what a lot of people were thinking. When I saw that, I thought that,” he added, noting he will be affected by Biden’s tax plans as a New Jersey resident that works in New York.
Since revealing his plans to vote for Trump in the upcoming election, the “Power” actor has been compared to Ice Cube who advised the Trump administration on “The Platinum Plan.”
Cube has since done multiple interviews explaining that the Trump campaign updated their plan after talking to him about his Contract with Black America. He also clarified he has not endorsed any of the political parties.
