In recent times, the Michigan’s underground rap scene has had the game in a silent, yet deadly chokehold and there’s no secret about it. With artists like Babyface Ray, YN Jay, Louie Ray, Peezy, Yung Rio, RMC Mike and more spearheading, Michigan has proven that they are one of one. Artists like Eminem, Royce Da 5’9, Tee Grizzley and Big Sean have done more than enough already, but when it comes to individuals like Detroit’s Icewear Vezzo, it is safe to say that Michigan as a whole is in a lane of their own. Today (Sept. 29), the “Up The Sco” rapper drops off his latest effort Rich Off Pints 2.
Vezzo has had his fingerprints across the game for a while now — more so recently with being included on a number of Lil Durk tour stops. Leading up to the release of Rich Off Pints 2, the Detroit rapper has turned the temperature up to 1000 degrees, holding absolutely nothing back as he unleashed back-to-back hits starting with “Up the Sco” feat. Lil Durk in April, followed by another instant hit featuring Future, “Tear The Club Up”, and now just last month with “Know the Difference” feat. Lil Baby (which is already cracked 2M views on YouTube). He’s also dropped two solo tracks in the last month that show us Vezzo in peak form: “Chamber Brothers” and just last week, “5 Milli” – a flip of the classic “Five On It” beat, both of which cracked 1M views in their first week.
With the release of Rich Off Pints 2, Icewear Vezzo continues to make his mark and put on for not only Michigan, but his birthplace of Detroit. He may be slept on by many right now, but at the rate he’s going, he’ll for sure be one of the greats when it is all said and done.
