In the months since the release of 2020’s Now or Never, Coi Leray has found herself at the forefront of hip hop culture, much in part thanks to a consistent flow of loose cuts for her exponentially growing fanbase to enjoy — “No More Parties” with Lil Durk and “BIG PURR (Prrdd)” with Pooh Shiesty are a couple of noteworthy examples. This year has also seen her join peers like 42 Dugg, Flo Milli, Morray, Toosii, Blxst, and Rubi Rose as part of XXL’s Freshman class.
Today (Sept. 20), Leray keeps the hits coming with “TWINNEM,” a Bankroll Got It, Diego Ave, DJ Swish, and Jae Roc-produced effort that’s centered around keeping your circle of loved ones small:
“That loyalty everything, I don’t hang with broke bitches, they just be killin’ my energy, ain’t bringin’ nothin’ to the table then you cannot sit with me, they don’t bring nothin’ to the table, but they be lookin’ for sympathy, niggas be havin’ they hand out but never did shit for me, know a couple niggas that donе switched up and turned right to my enеmy, that’s why it just me and my, just me and my twinnem…”
Directed by Valley Visions, the accompanying clip for “TWINNEM” sees Leray hanging with her close-knit compadres in different locations, while doing everyday things like enjoying homemade eats from an elder or playing a game of miniature golf. Elsewhere, the crew get dappered up in white tuxes and kick back in what looks like a lavish residence — it’s here where her beau, Canadian talent Pressa, makes a cameo appearance. All-in-all, Coi Leray is living her life to fullest, remaining unbothered by social media critics.
Press play on Coi Leray’s “TWINNEM” below. Hopefully, an official follow-up to Now or Never is somewhere on the proverbial horizon.
