Toosii has been one of the most consistent artists in both 2020 and 2021, and this week he’s back to continue that streak. Following his recent cuts like “heart cold” and “f**k marry kill,” he drops off today (July 16) his latest cut titled “Head Over Hills.” Just recently, the rising star was also inducted into this year’s XXL Freshman class, joining the likes of 42 Dugg, Flo Milli, Morray, Coi Leray, Pooh Shiesty, Blxst, and more as the next collective of hip hop artists to watch.
Last month, Toosii blessed his fans with his latest project Thank You For Believing, a 13-track offering featuring assists from DaBaby, Latto, and Key Glock. The project is the North Carolina-based talent’s biggest to date, landing him within the top 30 of the Billboard 200 thanks to roughly 23,000 first-week album equivalent units sold.
Following well-received visuals for “red die,” “back together,” “what it cost,” and “shop,” Toosii returns with another dope clip from Thank You For Believing, the aforementioned for “fuck marry kill.” The PlutoBrazy and DatBoiGetro-produced offering seems to take inspiration from Ludacris’ “Area Codes,” with Toosii delivering lyrics about the different relationships he has around the country.
In addition to loose cuts like like “IG Live” and his “Back In Blood” remix, this year also saw Toosii contributing to tracks like YNW Bortlen’s “Lovey Dovey,” Nuski2Squad’s “Gone Too Soon,” Lil Tjay’s “Love Hurts,” and BRS Kash’s “Feel Better.” Last year, he dropped a healthy amount of projects for his fans — three EPs, My Shit Now, BIG STEPPA and DICKPRESSED, the mixtape Platinum Heart (and its deluxe upgrade), and Poetic Pain, Toosii official debut LP that saw a couple of assists from Lil Durk and Summer Walker.
