Last month, Moneybagg Yo delivered his fourth studio LP A Gangsta’s Pain, a 22-track project that sees additional assists from Kaash Paige, BIG30, Future, Polo G, Lil Durk, Jhené Aiko, Pharrell Williams, and more. The project is also Moneybagg’s biggest to date, and has earned him his first number-one on the Billboard 200 thanks to 110,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. Even better, A Gangsta’s Pain made a return to the top position on that same chart a couple of weeks later.
This week, the Memphis star liberates a new visual from said album for its title track, which sees production from Twysted Genius and JAY SCALEZ and sees him getting real about his life struggles:
“Ran into some dead ends, rerouted, made a way, tennis chain, ring, watch, light on the ice today, street nigga from the M, that’s where you gotta keep a K, it don’t matter killers killin’ killers, ain’t nobody safe, bullets don’t discriminate, just had to remind you, no matter how you try to dodge the bullshit, it come find you, tryna put me in the middle ‘cause my nigga robbed you, told you not to fuck with ‘em but you act like you had to…”
Directed by BenMarc, the accompanying clip for “A Gangsta’s Pain” sees Moneybagg, his girlfriend Ari Fletcher, and his team vacationing in a tropical paradise while celebrating his aforementioned chart accomplishment. The short video is as FOMO as it gets, with shots of clear waters, yacht rides, massages, and all other facets of a proper island getaway.
Given his good fortune, it only makes sense for Moneybagg to return that love back to the man who blessed him with his opportunities. In celebration of Yo Gotti’s 40th birthday, Moneybagg recently gifted him with an iced out Bread Gang chain, further solidifying their lucrative partnership.
