After some teasing and speculation, it’s officially been announced that Moneybagg Yo will be releasing his fourth studio album, titled A GANGSTA’S PAIN, next week (April 23). The project will consist of 22 tracks — including the previous cuts “Time Today” and “Hard For The Next” with Future.
This week, the Memphis star blesses the masses with another single from A GANGSTA’S PAIN titled “GO!,” a FOREVEROLLING, Flex, and Real Red-produced effort that features past collaborator BIG 30 and matches the title with hard-hitting lyrics over aggressive, Midwest-esque vibes:
“Not you ‘posed to be gangster, but salty ‘bout the hoe, how the fuck my artist bigger than your CEO? Why the hell she know I’m toxic, but still fuck with me? It’s plentiful right now, I’m still pouring on a pint of VPrezi, Rolex emerald cut, still ain’t seen a watch like this junt, all white guys, bitch, can’t sit in here on her time of the month, plain jane shirt, but it’s a stack ‘cause it say Saint Laurent/”
A GANGSTA’s PAIN will follow last year’s Time Served, Moneybagg Yo’s third LP that boasted 15 tracks with additional assists from Lil Baby, Blac Youngsta, Future, DaBaby, Summer Walker, Fredo Bang, and Megan Thee Stallion. The release debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 thanks to 66,000 album equivalent units sold, having since received a well-deserved Gold plaque. Months after its initial drop, a deluxe edition of Time Served would make landfall, adding on seven new songs to the overall body of work. Outside of his solo work, 2020 also saw Yo connect with Youngsta for the joint album Code Red, another top ten chart success for the Interscope signee.
