At this point, Snoop Dogg is the definition of longevity in hip hop — the west coast legend has remained active on wax since the early ‘90’s. Now, he’s announced that he’ll soon be releasing his 18th studio album, titled From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites, sometime before year’s end.
Today, Snoop follows the recently released cuts “Black Man In America” and “CEO” with “Roaches In My Ashtray,” which features — and is produced by — fellow Cali talent ProHoeZak and sees the Long Beach emcee rapping about cheapskates, cruising in his ride, and more:
“Nigga slid up in my car in the passenger seat, talking my ears off, adjusting my beat, stashed my heat up under my seat, stepped out my ride, hollered at a few freaks, take a couple flicks, mack a bitch, baby what’s your name? ‘Passionate,’ Fashion Nova, fashion fit, ‘Dogg where the weed at?’ Ain’t that a bitch?”
The laid-back number also sees a video that sees Snoop and some others bringing out a parking lot full of classic, old school whips — much in the same way that fellow automative and chronic aficionado Curren$y does in many of his own clips. All-in-all, it looks like the perfect warm weather function that many of us are looking forward to come summertime.
From Tha Streets 2 Tha Suites will follow 2019’s I Wanna Thank Me, a project that saw Snoop Dogg giving himself his well-deserved flowers over 22 tracks. He was also joined on that album by the likes of Lil Duval, Nate Dogg, Swizz Beatz, Trey Songz, Jermaine Dupri, Slim Jxmmi, Russ, Wiz Khalifa, YG, Mustard, Chris Brown, and Slick Rick. More recently, Snoop could also be heard contributing to songs by Ray J, Blueface, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Tory Lanez, Tiësto, the supergroup Dinner Party, and more.
